Until I Find You

Until I Find You by John Irving

This might be John Irving’s best novel since Garp. A man’s search to find the father he never knew leads him through mostly tattoo parlors and churches in a novel of surprising juxtapositions and real heart. Grade: B+

I Am Not Sidney Poitier

I Am Not Sidney Poitier by Percival Everett

Percival Everett has written an excellent novel. I Am Not Sidney Poitier is a clever book that follows the adventures of a lad named Not Sidney Poitier who happens to resemble the actor Sidney Poitier. The storyline of the novel parallels the storylines  of several Poitier films. Another tremendous book from Graywolf Press.

I hated to give this one back to the library. Grade: A
