Cursed from Birth: The Short, Unhappy Life of William S. Burroughs Jr. by William S. Burroughs Jr. (Edited and Compiled by David Ohle)
It couldn’t have been easy, being the son of famous Beat Writer William S. Burroughs. William S. Burroughs Jr. wrote two good books in his lifetime: Speed and Kentucky Ham, and was working on a third, an autobiographical work tentatively titled Pakriti Junction, before his death. In Cursed from Birth, David Ohle does an excellent job compiling the pieces of this third book from WSB Jr’s papers along with letters and other scraps of writing in order to piece together the story of WSB Jr’s difficult and unusual life. Grade: B.
David Ohle is an excellent novelist in his own right. Check out Motorman.
